Commissioned Pieces

Commissioned Pieces

Perhaps you've had an idea for that perfect piece of furniture but can't quite find what you're looking for? Or maybe you've been inspired by something you've seen on television or social media and need somebody to realise your vision? That's where Finish Line Furnishings can help.

Whether it's an item of furniture, decorative steel wall art or something for the garden, get in touch to find out what we can produce for you.

How does the commission process work?

Simply get in touch with us via our contact form or email us directly at finishlinefurnishings@gmail.com.

Some customers send us pictures of their inspiration; some customers just give us a written description. Either way, we take your idea and will come back to you with a drawn plan and quote.

At this stage, if anything on the plan needs adapting, we're happy to go back to the drawing board until you're happy that it is exactly what you're after.

Does it cost anything to get a quote?

No, getting a quote and sketch of the intended project is completely free.

It is then up to you whether you would like to proceed.

I would like to proceed. What now?

If you are happy with the design and quoted price, we can begin. For larger projects we will ask for a deposit before starting, to cover material costs, with the rest of the price payable on delivery.

What payment methods do you accept?

Deposits can be paid via Paypal or bank transfer. The final amount can be paid by these methods, or in person by cash or credit card.

Example: initial sketch and finished product

We were commissioned to create a pair of custom speaker stands from reclaimed materials. We used suspension coil springs and brake discs as the main structure, with bent spanners providing a solid hold for the speakers.

The speaker stands now have pride of place in our customer's living room.

Example: initial sketch and finished product

A satisfied customer returned to us to commission this wall art canal boat as a gift for her partner.

We produced a sketch, giving her a variety of scales to choose from. She picked her preferred size and we produced this finished steel model.

Her partner loved it!

Steel Stair Rail

We were commissioned to create a functional but decorative stair rail for these customers.

The steel was hand-rolled and welded together, before being painted and then topped with a beautiful wooden handrail.

Steel Bird Cage Wall Art

Our customer had seen a small wall hanging in the shape of bird cages and wanted a much larger version to hang on his wall.

He commissioned us to create this final piece, handmade from steel.
